Dunsink Observatory, Founded 1785.
Dunsink Observatory was the premier Irish observatory, and seat of the Astronomer Royal of Ireland and the Professor of Astronomy of Dublin University. It is now part of the Dublin Institute for Advanced Studies, Dublin University. During the period of this document the Astronomer Royal and Professor of Astronomy was Sir Robert Stawell Ball, who was succeeded in 1892 by his assistant Arthur Alcock Rambaut.
