Sharpe, Mary Ellen Graydon, 1823-1914
Variant namesSharpe was born in Harrisburg, Pa., the daughter of abolitionists. In 1843 the family moved to Indianapolis. They joined the Second Presbyterian Church where the young Henry Ward Beecher was pastor. Sharpe married Joseph K. Sharpe in 1847. Late in life two of her books were published.
