Lee, Gerard, 1951-
Variant namesGerard Lee was born in 1951 in Melbourne, but lived for many years in Brisbane. He was trained as a journalist and schoolteacher, and now divides his time between writing and filmmaking. He is the author of Manual for a Garden Mechanic (1976), Pieces for a Glass Piano (1978), True Love and How to Get It (1981), and Troppo Man (1990). In 1989, he was co-winner with Jane Campion of the AFI Award for best original screenplay for the film Sweetie. He now lives in Sydney.
