Harold G. Sugg, a Greenville, N.C., native, was a veteran of the United States Army and a newspaper editor. Sugg served in the Army during World War II. Following the war, he worked in the newspaper industry. Sugg was the editorial page editor for the Roanoke Times and World News and a former assistant to the publisher for the Virginian - Pilot in Norfolk, Va. In 1971, Sugg received an M.A. in history from Old Dominion University in 1971.
