Prioleau, Samuel, 1784-1840.
Charleston, South Carolina attorney, merchant, South Carolina legislator, and judge. Prioleau formed a law partnership with Col. John Ward and Col. W. Drayton, and after about 1812 practiced law alone. In 1811 he married Hannah Hamilton, daughter of James Hamilton (an officer of the Continental Army). After Hannah's death Prioleau married her sister Elizabeth Lynch Hamilton.
