Wolff grew wheat, grapes, apples, srawberries, raspberries, blackberries, rhubarb, pumpkin, corn etc., and also had a dairy herd. Originally named Rattlesnake Ranch, it was established on 160 acres on the east side of Broadway between Alpine and Forest Avenues in 1864. The farm was reduced to 64 acres by the time Wolff sold it in 1908.
