Duren, Charles M., 1842?-1869.
Charles M. Duren, Union soldier, was born ca. 1842, and died March 19, 1869, in Bangor, Maine. He enlisted in the 24th Massachusetts Infantry (1861), became a lieutenant with the 54th Massachusetts Infantry, and later served as adjutant to military headquarters in New Bern, North Carolina, and in Hilton Head, Morris Island, and Folly Island, South Carolina. Duran was wounded and thrown from his horse, returned home, and was honorably discharged (1865).
