The San Diego State University Staff Council, formed in 1968, provides democratic representation for non-academic University employees. A member of the Staff Council serves on the President's Advisory Committee and makes recommendations on proposals affecting staff employees. The Council also oversees staff participation on campus committees with policy affecting University operation and is consulted by the administration for policy input relating to staff.
