Friend Adams, 1771-1839, lived in Panton, Vt. He operated a ferry to Westport, N.Y., wharf, storehouse, store, hotel, and large farm. He was also one of the largest landowners in the area. His son Harry Adams, 1808-1868, had a farm in Vergennes, Vt., and was an administrator of his father's estate. His son Hiram Adams was an attorney in Vergennes.
