Daniel Hertz Funkenstein, 1910-1994, BS, 1930, University of Georgia; MD, 1934, Tulane University; was a psychiatrist at Massachusetts Mental Health Center from 1946 to 1970. He was appointed Assistant in Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School in 1946 and rose to become Professor of Psychiatry, retiring in 1975. Funkenstein also served as Attending Psychiatrist at the West Roxbury and Bedford Veteran's Administration Hospitals from 1949 to 1959 and Consultant in Psychiatry and Chief of Staff at the Brockton Veteran's Administration Hospital during the 1970s.
