Bryan Patterson (1909-1979) was affiliated with the Field Museum of Natural History in Chicago from 1926-1955. From 1947-1955, he held an adjunct appointment at the University of Chicago, as lecturer in geology. In 1955, Patterson became Alexander Agassiz Professor of Vertebrate Zoology at Harvard, a position he held until his retirement in 1975.
