African-American scientist and educator; native of Wilmington, Delaware; receive BA (1916) and MA (c.1929?) from Cornell University, Ithaca, New York; science professor at St. Augustine's College, Raleigh, North Carolina, and South Carolina State College (now South Carolina State University), Orangeburg, South Carolina; secretary of the North Carolina Tennis Association; member of the Finance Department of the Episcopal Diocese of North Carolina Executive Council.
