The student orientation program at the University of Minnesota has been in existence since the early 20th century to provide an introduction to the University for all new students, including first-year, transfer and graduate. Student orientation was administered by the Office of the Dean of Students and later the Student Activities Bureau until 1972, when it was placed under the Office of the Vice President for Student Affairs.
