Marjorie Louise Henry was born October 2, 1930. She was known throughout her life as Louise Henry. She received a B.S. in business administration from Ohio State University in 1952. She held positions in sales before becoming a secretary in the Student Activities Department of the University of California, Irvine from 1965-1968. From 1968-1986, Henry was a sea-going technician and data researcher on Glomar Challenger, the deep sea drilling vessel of the Scripps Institution of Oceanography, UCSD, and as such was one of the first women to serve as a crew member on a Scripps oceanographic vessel. Henry died on December 18, 1989.
