Nora A. Talbot served as Dean for the College of Home Economics from 1923 to 1950. She was born in Stella, Nebraska on August 30, 1882. Her family moved to a site six miles from the OSU campus and later built a house in Stillwater near the campus. The Talbot family were charter members of the First Church of Christ Scientist in Stillwater and participated in its building. Dean Talbot earned degrees from Oklahoma A & M College, Central State Normal College and Columbia University. Her first teaching job was in the Stillwater Public Schools. She moved to Nowata in 1910 where she established a home economics department. In 1916 she returned to Oklahoma A & M to head the department and eight years later became the dean. Under her guidance the department grew from a faculty of 12 to approximately 60 members. The department added programs and courses throughout Dean Talbot's tenure.
