Patricia Clarke is an author, editor and journalist. She has written extensively about nineteenth-century Australian women, many of whom were writers. In 1993, Clarke was awarded a Harold White Fellowship to undertake research at the National Library of Australia towards a biography of the Australian author Rosa Praed. She was awarded a Literature Board Grant in 1995 to complete the biography.
