J. Taylor Hollist (1936-)was an LDS mathmetician who taught at State University of New York at Oneonta.
J. Taylor Hollist was born 14 November, 1936 in Phoenix, Arizona to Orson Leroy Hollist and Jennie Brown. He went to elementary school in Brigham City, Utah and high school in Kaysville, Utah. He then attended Weber State College and Utah State University. He married Suzanne Parker in 1961. They are the parents of seven children. He was an Associate Professor of Mathematics at State University of New York at Oneonta. He taught mathematics for over 40 years with geometry as a specialty. During that time he spent 15 years studying the Dutch graphic artist M.C. Escher and published three articles on him. The highlight of his career was attending an Escher Conference at the University of Rome (Italy) and presenting a paper. He and his wife Suzanne served a mission to Nauvoo which sparked his interest in Wilford Wood.
