Fitzhugh Lee, son of General George Mason Lee, was born on August 19, 1905, in Batangas, Philippines. He graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis in 1926, then from the National War College in 1950. He achieved the rank of rear admiral on December 1, 1953, then vice admiral on December 31, 1959. He was Chief of the Naval Air Technical Training, Naval Air Station, in Memphis, Tennessee from 1958 to 1960. Lee died on January 20, 1992, in San Diego, California.
