Theodore Sherman Palmer was a naturalist with the U.S. Department of Agriculture who led the first Death Valley expedition in 1891.

Theodore Sherman Palmer (1868 - 1955) collected for the US Biological Survey under US Department of Agriculture. He traveled and collected California, including Death Valley during 1880's. His field work is documented in the Division of Mammals, National Museum of Natural History.
