Henry A. Rocker was a prominent lawyer and a leader in civic and Jewish affairs. The son of Hungarian immigrant and editor Samuel Rocker, Henry A. Rocker graduated from Cleveland Law School in 1907 and practiced law in the Cleveland area until 1950. He was a founder of the Cleveland City Club, a member of the board of the Cleveland Community Chest, president of Park Synagogue (Anshe Emeth) from 1930-1953, and president of the Jewish Community Council of Cleveland from 1945-1953. Additionally, he served on the board of overseers of the Jewish Theological Seminary, and as a member of the board of directors of the United Jewish Appeal.
