Bennett, was sent there as a photographer for Ford Motor Company's Northern Michigan operations. After graduating high school, Bennett worked in the Iron Mountain plant from 1925 to 1951, when he was transferred to Ford Automotive Operations after operations in Northern Michigan closed down.
