Paul Carrington (1733-1818) was clerk of the parish vestry, burgess, and member of the State Conventions from Charlotte County, Virginia. He became a member of the General Court in 1788, and one of the first five members of the Supreme Court of Appeals. He married Margaret Read (1739-1776) in 1755 with whom he had eleven children, five of whom lived past infancy, at their Mulberry Hill Plantation in Charlotte County.

Clement Carrington (1762-1847), son of Paul and Margaret Read Carrington, married Jane Watkins Poage and had three children.

Clement Read's daughter Margaret married Paul Carrington.

James Venable (1734-1814) was a Justice of the Peace in Charlotte County, Virginia. He was a founder, visitor, and trustee of Hampden-Sydney Academy in 1775. He married Judith Morton (1739-1826), daughter of Joseph Morton (1709-1782) and Agnes Woodson Morton (1711-1802) ca. 1757; they moved to Kentucky in 1796.

Joseph Morton (1709-1782) of Charlotte County, Virginia, was the father of Judith Morton who married James Venable.
