Smither family.
George W. Smither was the owner of Pond Branch Landing on the Kentucky River. His son, Otto Smither, was a member of the Owen County, Kentucky Board of Education (1926-1940) and was elected to the Kentucky State legislature (1940-1942). The family lived in Monterey, Owen County, Kentucky.
