Cheney family
Cheney family patriarch William Cheney led a group of settlers from South Carolina to central Louisiana in 1811, establishing the town of Cheneyville.
Members of the family remained in Louisiana and South Carolina through the Civil War and corresponded with each other. Cheney's descendents include Laura M. Cole, Camilla S. Cheney, William C. Cheney, and Sallie Cheney Cocks Brown.
