Wotruba, Fritz, 1907-1975
Variant namesWotruba was commissioned to create the monument to Gustav Mahler that the city of Vienna was planning in honor of the 25th anniversay of Mahler's death. He completed a model for the monument but it was ultimately rejected. Wotruba also gave sculpture lessons to Anna Mahler beginning in 1930. Marian Wotruba was Fritz's wife.
