Massachusetts. Displaced Persons Commission.
Walter Bieringer and Alice Cope, chair and vice-chair respectively of the Massachusetts Displaced Persons Commission, were also officers of the Window Shop, a Boston-area charitable organization that provided assistance to refugees and recent immigrants from 1939 to 1987. Alice O'Connor served as acting executive secretary of the MDPC.
