Jeweler who invented the bitectoscope and the diamondscope. In 1908, on the corner of Market St. in San Francisco where Samuels had been a newsboy, the Albert S. Samuels Company was founded. For years, this jewelry house used the slogan "the house of lucky wedding rings." In addition to founding the South of Market Boys, Samuels also served as a president of San Francisco's Jewish National Fund.
