Land Group, Inc.
Jim Botsford, Jorge Moy and Gilbert Chavez worked for the Donald Wiese Surveying Company in the early 1970s. In 1975 Botsford founded a company called B&M Surveys in 1975 with Moy and Chavez. Chavez and Moy started their own surveying businesses in 1980 and 1984 respectively, and Botsford continued on with Botsford Land Surveying Inc.
The Land Group was formed in August 1996 by Isaac Camacho and Jerry H. Williams. In October 1996 the Land Group bought out Botsford.
The Land Group provided engineering and construction management services in addition to surveying. In 2000 the company closed down and its members went to work in other surveying and engineering businesses. Jerry Williams runs a private firm in Las Cruces and Isaac Camacho works at Brock & Bustillos in El Paso.
Gilbert Chavez served as City Surveyor for Las Cruces from 1990 through 2009 and currently operates Vista Grande Surveys as well as serving on the New Mexico Board of Licensure for Professional Engineers and Professional Surveyors.
