Smith, Morgan

Morgan Smith was Dean of the University of Arkansas School of Medicine from 1912 to 1927. Until 1913, the school was maintained solely on funds derived from students' fees. Dr. Smith, with the support of a strong and influential lobby, secured an initial appropriation from the Arkansas General Assembly. Each General Assembly since 1913 has made an appropriation for the medical school.
