Hugh C. Cooper (fl. 1858-1875) was a resident of Christian County, Ky. His brother-in-law was James Andrew McKenzie (1840-1904), a Kentucky state legislator; member of Congress, 1877-1883; minister to Peru, 1893; and prominent member of the Democratic Party.
