Henry Dendy was a brewer and businessman who arrived in Melbourne from Surrey in 1841. Unsuccessfully involved in Brighton real estate, he returned to brewing and moved to Geelong in 1847, before becoming a mining shareholder and settling in Walhalla in 1871.
