Ellis Heber Rece, educator and administrator, was born 25 June 1900 in Huntington, West Virginia, and died 17 November 1990 in Atlanta, Georgia. Rece attended Denison and Temple Universities; graduated from Marshall College (B.A., 1923) and Emory University (M.A., 1925); and served Emory as a faculty member in religion (1926-1969), Dean of Men (1935-1947, 1959-1960), and Dean of Students (1947-1959). He co-authored two books on Bible study.
