William Cade, upon graduating from Davidson College in 1937, entered the Air Force and served in World War II. He received numerous commendations after the war. Upon retirement from military service, he became active in local Atlanta and national politics, orrespondeingwith senators and State Department officials. His particular interest was in Arab-Israeli affairs. He also corresponded with Davidson College President Samuel Spencer on the possible creation of a Center of Middle Eastern Studies at Davidson.
