Markowski, Benedict

Markowski is a Michigan author of several books, lyric and dramatic poems, and librettos, copies of which are housed in the Central Michigan University (CMU) libraries. He lives in Detroit and was employed by the Detroit Public Library as the archivist of the Burton Historical Collections in 1980. In 1954, Markowski earned his B.A. from CMU. He received CMU's Alumni Recognition Award in 1977. Markowski earned his M.A. in Library Science from the George Peabody College for Teachers in 1956. He has taken graduate classes in Poland and at Wayne State University. (Information from the cover of his libretto, Carissima.).
