Received BS from the Colored Normal, Industrial, Agricultural and Mechanical College of South Carolina (now South Carolina State University, Orangeburg, S.C.) in 1935 and MS in 1952; received a doctorate in Science Education from the American University, 1966; science professor at South Carolina State College (now South Carolina State University, Orangeburg, S.C.), 1954-1979; active in various civic, national, state, and professional organizations; selected as 1983 South Carolina and National Mother of the Year.
