St. Cecilia Society (Charleston, S.C.)
Variant namesCharleston, S.C. social organization. It was founded about 1762 as a musical society. Later the sole function of the St. Cecilia Society came to be an annual debutante ball. The society admits only men whose fathers or brothers are members.
