Fine printing firm established in San Francisco, California, by Edwin Grabhorn and his brother, Robert.

Robert (1900-1973) and Edwin (1889-1968) Grabhorn, from Indiana, began printing in 1911 in Seattle, later moved to Indianapolis, and established the Grabhorn Press in San Francisco in 1920. It soon became internationally known for fine craftsmanship, beautiful design work, and the publication of rare western Americana, often from Edwin Grabhorn's personal collection. Following Edwin's death, Robert formed a partnership with Andrew Hoyem known as Grabhorn-Hoyem. Robert's wife Jane (1911-1973), a witty author, was co-owner with William M. Smith of the Colt Press, and operated her own Press, the Jumbo Press, within the walls of the Grabhorn Press. The Bibliography of the Press appeared in three volumes (1940, 1957, 1977).
