Associated Utah Artists.
The Associated Utah Artists held their organizational meeting on 25 June 1940. Objectives included promotion of a progressive spirit in painting and sculpture by a healthy concern with new media and technique, by a spirit of mutual helpfulness, and an essentially native growth. Charter members included James T. Harwood, LeConte Stewart, Olof Moller, Verla Birrell, Bert Franklin Larsen, Avard Fairbanks, Gordon Cope, Jack Sears, and others. Florence Ware served as the first chairman.
