Whitman, Roger, ca. 1907-ca. 1956.
Roger Whitman worked on the editorial staff of the Niagara Falls Gazette from 1929 to 1942. His subject, Benjamin Rathbun, was a powerful merchant in early Buffalo who surveyed and laid out the present city of Niagara Falls. His career came to a halt in 1836 when he was convicted of forgery and sentenced to five years in prison.
