The Canadian Club was founded in 1890 by members of the University from Canada; membership, however, was open to anyone. The purpose of the club was the promotion of social interaction amongst its members, as well the advancement of Harvard's interests in Canada. The Club was in existence through the 1920s; it is not believed to have a direct connection to the Harvard Canadian Club existing as of 2008, although the two clubs served a similar purpose (see Harvard University Archives call number: 3260.1000).
