Risling, David W.
Variant namesUC Davis faculty member in Native American Studies from 1970 to 1991 (now retired). Member of the Hupa/Yurok/Karok tribes of Northern California. Dr. Risling helped found D-Q University (the U.S.'s first off-reservation Indian college, located 7 miles west of Davis) in 1971. Risling helped launch the Native American Studies program at UC Davis, one of the first in the U.S.
