Walter D. Blair was a commission merchant dealing in wine and liquor, groceries, general merchandize and the hiring of slaves. The firm operated in Richmond, Va. under the name Walter D. Blair & Co., except for a brief period during the late 1860's when it was Blair & McKinney.
