According to Sangiacomo, he chose to use the anglicanized version of his name to fit in in with the advertising world. He worked for several years as a successful advertising executive before moving to Gloucester, MA. Here he joined the Rocky Neck Art Colony as a painter. While in Gloucester, he created mostly portrait paintings for wealthy families in the area. During the 1980s, Sangiacomo left the colony to travel around the country painting. He died in 1998.
