The Harvard Council for Undergraduate Affairs was created in December 1961 and replaced the Student Council. Reorganized as a smaller body than the Student Council, the HCUA emphasized the role that Houses and House Committees play representing the voice of undergraduates at the College. The HCUA was composed of one representative from each House Committee, one representative elected at large from each House, and 3 freshmen. The HCUA was suceeded in 1965 by the Harvard Undergraduate Council and the Harvard Policy Committee.
