Wedworth Wadsworth (1846-1927) born Durham, Connecticut, author, water colorist, illustrator. Works include Leaves from an Artist's Field Book, The Song of the Book, A Winter's Walk with Cowper, Under the Greenwood Tree with Shakespeare. Member the Salmagundi Club of New York, the Society of Independents, the New York Water-Color Club, the Brooklyn Art Club, and the National Sculpture Society.

Samuel Sidney McClure (1857-1949) editor, published McClure's Magazine in 1903, launched muckraking era.
