Ora H. Rostad was a geologist, based in Colorado, who specialized in exploration and mining. He worked in many mining companies, 1944-1956, both nationally and internationally, and then for American Metal Climax, Inc. (AMAX Exploration), 1956-1982; thereafter he continued as a consultant. He supported the revision of the Mining Law of 1872 in the late 1960s and took active interest with political issues involving natural resources, energy, labor, taxation, and the environment among others.
