Perry, Benjamin, 1803-1857.
St. George Parish, South Carolina plantation owner, S.C. Senator (1846-1850, 1856-1857), and South Carolina Secretary of State (1850-1854). After the death of his first wife Benjamin Perry married a widow, Sarah Freer Waring Miles (b. 1816). He subsequently acted as guardian for her two children John Allen Miles and Jeremiah J. Miles.
