Weinberg, Stanley L.

Stanley L. Weinberg (1911-2001), a native of New York, graduated with a B.S. (1933) in biology from City College of New York and Northeast Missouri State University (now Truman State University) in 1971 with a Master's degree. Weinberg's professional career included teaching at the Bronx High School of Science, Seward Park (New York) High School, and Ottumwa (Iowa) High School. Weinberg authored several textbooks and lab manuals on biology and also co-edited, Reviews of thirty-one creationist books (1984). In 1981, Weinberg founded the Committees of Correspondence, which became the National Center for Science Education (1983), to help promote the teaching of evolution in schools.
