Illinois Conference of Churches
Statewide ecumenical agency consisting of several Protestant and Catholic denominations first formed in 1934 as the Illinois Church Council with the goal of uniting Christianity in Illinois by forming different consortia, each to deal with a specific social or religious issue. In 1955 the name was changed to Illinois Council of Churches and 1972 to its present name.
