Stanley, Dorothy, Lady, 1855-1926.
Victorian neoclassicist painter born in London. She was the wife of British explorer Henry Morton Stanley (1840-1904). After Stanley's death, she married Henry Curtis. Helen Hekimian was the daughter of Buffalo industrialist William H. Crosby. During World War I she worked with the Red Cross american Fund for French Wounded and supervised a rest hotel in Geneva, Switzerland.
